Hi Mike, Oddly enough, I worked for The Empowerment Group for 5 years before moving back into the brand/agency world, and we advocated this quite successfully. My boss at the time, Paul Miller, wrote a seminal book on knowledge management and we did numerous projects with large global organisations linking knowledge management practice with internal communication, change and engagement practice. It was a powerful mix, as you might imagine, when we managed to run into the occasionally enlightened client organisation. The problem is that many people in the fading knowledge management industry completely miss the connections, and many people in the ever increasingly navel-gazing internal communication industry fail to see the connection, which to you, me, Indy and people like us is blindingly obvious. Sounds like a good idea for an article...
