Re: Doing things right...Doing the right things: What's wrong with either?
by Anonymous
Hi Mike, Yep, agree with you and Lee on this one - if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got. But per one of my recent posts on the Dojo, I do think we can tend to take 'either/or' positions in internal comms. I'd rather think about continuous improvement (much as I hate the term) than old school/new school. The reason I seem to come back constantly with comments like a bad penny is generally because I'm trying to understand exactly what you're saying. I don't think I'm the best ideas person. In MBTI terms, I'm an ISFJ. I tend to be good at taking new concepts from others, finding my way around them and then looking for how I can put them to practical use. That's why I like to look around and read around so much to see what's new and what everyone else is saying about what works, but it's also why I have a tendency to drive people nuts sometimes asking 101 questions about what exactly they mean - otherwise I can't work out how to translate them into practice. (So, for example, if you're saying we disagree about a point on which I think we seem to have similar views, I'm going to try and pinpoint whether we really do disagree, or whether I've missed the point.) So you keep coming up with questions Mike, and I'll keep coming back with more questions about your questions ...! Sue D
