Personally, I think it's insane not to research before starting any kind of analysis or long-term communication strategy, be it internal or external, followed up with regular tracking. I think if anything in general was missing from EuroComm was any kind of a serious discussion of adapting viable research approaches to the new kinds of strategies being advocated.
