Dear CommsOffensive325 Reader,

After a long summer of few posts--and much effort being dedicated to an interesting and demanding in-house role I recently landed with Cargill, which is involving considerable travel and much absorption of a new culture and new organizational priorities, I have decided to "rest my case" for the time being.

Rest my case?  For much of the past months, I have made a case for a more proactive, strategic and, where required, confrontational approach to internal communication in large organizations.  I think I have done so with some success, with 11,000 page visits to CommsOffensive's credit, and with having strong consideration for a number of posts before choosing to join Cargill.  But now, I find myself focusing more of my energy on applying the tools and lessons discussed here, and less time and energy to make the case for additional ideas.

This may well change once I feel familiar with my role, its scope, and the associated personalities.  Indeed, I am always on the lookout for new ideas, insights and resources, and for opportunities to share them with my peers and colleagues.  In looking at my portfolio of activities in the industry--where I am also the Regional Leadership Development Director for IABC and working to develop a global growth initiative for the Council of Communication Management (CCM), I've decided that if I need to rationalize, taking a break from the internal communications blogosphere for some months would make the most sense.

So, I will be resting CommsOffensive325, at least until the end of 2008.  I'm not about to become a shrinking violet, however--I will be continuing FlightKL18, my personal blog about living and working in Europe (http://FlightKL18.blogspot.com), and will be continually active around IABC and CCM in the coming months.

Thank you for your readership, and I look forward to staying in touch.

All the best,

Mike Klein
